Had about ten turn up, and a great time had by all. WAY too much good food. The only real downside was all the razzing I got, for no apparent reason. Shy and retiring guy that I am, it really was cruel and unusual punishment. While I could probably name everyone, I will let the individuals name themselves and those they brought. Feel free to add a caption to some of the shots. Keep it clean: I do not appreciate bathroom humor or references to drugs you think are funny.
I hope you enjoy the pics as much as we enjoyed the shoot.
Mike
A drake and hen Mallard landed right in the pond at station one, and were totally non-chalant about the shooting, having seen Mike Lewis shoot.
Color comparison
Now how does this go in?
Let's shoot a few rounds before he wakes up and drives off. Brent Lacy used this to pick up a few missed birds.
No, I can read it- "16 ga cast iron"
We swear we were not shooting 20's
My wife makes me attach a string to everything I eat, and then yanks it out while I'm sleeping. |

Had a hoot and appreciate all the work the Wing man did coordinating the shoot. If you ever get a chnace you gotta go to Elm Fork Clays shooting complex Dallas, Tx, great venue. Met some good friends and appreciate eveyones efforts that went into our Texas size lunch.
Hope we can circle the Wagons up and do it again.
All the best,
Mike Lewis |

You thought you were gonna get left out, didn't ya Mike?
A great time was had by all, and nobody went home hungry. Let's do it again next year.....or sooner if you want. |

Ol' H.H. Hipshot had a great time, not only shooting, but getting to meet some fine 16 ga type folks. I know that son Nathan had a good time too, and I appreciate the welcome you all gave him.
And the food. What a feast! I may not eat for a week.
I'm too pooped from all the fresh air, sunshine, and exercise to add any more comments right now, except to say that I hope that we can make this an annual affair.
Happy trails,
H.H.H. |

Looks like you guys had a nice day and a good time. Contrary to popular belief, shooting clays from the bed of a pickup truck isn't limited to Texas. But, that could qualify you as a redneck. Great photos-Nice guns. |

Hi Mike - looks like "a great time was had by all" - it can be a real PITA setting stuff like that up - good work.
I'm hoping the grouse shoot in a couple weeks is as well attended by folks here...
which reminds me, I'ma go get some practice in while the odd red/orange ball is in the sky... |

Thanks for sharing the photos! Looks like you all had a great time.
Perhaps this will encourage others to hold an event! |

I want to thank Tiny ( Wingshooter) , M Lewis, Trisha, txshootist , Hipshot, Nathan, Carl, Andy C, and Postoak.I wouldn't want to spend my day with any other group of people than you fine folks! I thoroughly enjoyed the fine guns and the sportsmanship displayed at this shoot. All of our brotherhood that missed this event need to start making plans now to attend next year. I for one hope other members will plan some similar events in our state or region because you will get to share some great food and companionship with like minded folk.
Special thanks to Postoak for the loan of the 16 bore Rizzini to me bri Andy C. Also, my wishes to mlewis for a safe trip to N Carolina this week. Good shooting!
I especially enjoyed the guns. Parker Bros., Sauer and Sons, L. C. Smith, Austrian guild, Fox (Savage), Rizzini, Winchester, Ruger Gold Lable(12 bore), my BSA (ZH gun), and Tiny's UNCHECKERED Arrietta.
Winds were high, scores were low, targets were challanging, and presentations were intresting. Thanks for the photos guys!
Love you all my brothers,
XVI'er ( Brent ) |
