| Friend of mine went to the big gun show in Tulsa and called me Saturday to tell me he had found just what I needed, a 16 ga 37 for $225. We talked about it more on Sunday whlie shooting and he went back to the show Sunday and it was still there. I think I was an excuse for him to go back. I had pretty decided to have him buy it, but then backed out when he gave me the whole story. The 37 was a plain barrel with some unmarked type choke device like a cutts with only a full tube. I suspect a Lyman or Weaver because every Cutts I have seen was marked. Anyway, the deal killer was the dealer said he would not come down on price and he was from California and would have to transfer it to an Oklahoma dealer so there would have been another $10 to $20 more invested and then trying to find a more open choke tube or open that one up. I passed, but somewhere, sometime this model 37 might find a good home, even in the Sunny state. This is one deal I will not kick myself on. |
