I stopped into a gun store on Long Island today. They have a 16 ga. J.P. Sauer for sale.

The gun is a model 8.
29 1/2" barrels.
Pistol grip.
Splinter fore-end.
2 triggers.
Extractors.
I have no clue as to chokes.
Bores seemed clean. Action has gone to grey. Barrels looked good. I don't remember any dents.
Wood was very dark, but not bad. There is a dried-out ventilated recoil pad on it. Cheek piece for a right handed shooter. No sling swivels. There is no year of manufacture, but I would put the gun in the late 1920's.

The seller is asking $699.00

His contact info is...
Guns and Ammo
4762 sunrise Hwy.
Bohemia, N.Y.11716
1.631.244.0915

Good luck folks.

P.S. he also had a 20 ga. Beretta Silver Snipe in the store for $799.00

PGG, what would you estimate the weight of the gun was? Tight on face? Top lever right of center?

Hmmmm....

I have a Belgian Browning A5 20 that might become trade bait. It might be kind of fun to fix up that old gun.

I'd say 6 1/2 lbs. I have the exact gun with ejectors, in a higher grade. (I paid a lot more too) A dreram to carry. Swings so well. If you want, send me a PM and I'll stop back this week and take pictures.
