Very Happy Hi all, this may be of great interest to you Brent and Ron. Well today I had a chance to handle a Beretta 627EL at out local Scheels. It was locked in one of the "Fine Gun" cases, along with a Savage/Fox BS-E, 12 and 20 BSS and a Win. 23. I have seen this gun in the past thru the looking glass.
The hang tag had all kinds of mis-information, like 28" Mod/Full and had it as a Sidelock. When the sales guy handed it to me, I fell in love. The gun has 26" bbls and is IC/Mod, not a mark on the bbls, some very slight handling marks on the wood (the wood BTW is nice, not fantasic, but very nice). What really got me is the weight, it felt so light. I was able to get them to weigh it (in front of me BTW). It weighs 6lbs 6oz on the nose.

Well, I bought it. (am picking it up tomorrow).

The Uggie I just got is still better balanced and has a better feel, but this one is a very close second.

Here are the specs:

12ga, 26"bbls, IC/Mod, Ej, SG, Semi-Beavertail, DT (front is hinged), full scroll on the receiver, wood is a light walnut with some nice figure.

They were asking 2.2k got it for 2k.

I think my gun buying days are gone now for awhile.

Take care and God Bless!!!

Greg

Gun buying days are over ? Ha! Face it ... ... ... you're an addict.

Some dealer (why do you think they call them that ?) gave you a taste with the Uggie, and now the Beretta. You're hooked!

Two days from now you'll be gettin' the shakes!

Greg,
Great gun at a super price. Look on the flats for the date of manufacture. There will be roman numerals or two capital leters. I'm curious if it has 627EL on the action bottom. Enjoy your good fortune.
Best,
Ron

Very Happy Ron, I did look and the bottom did have "627EL" markings. I'll chevk on the date and get back to you. BTW, is the stock finish an oil? If it does they sure did a good job, looks like semi-gloss to me. Let me know.

Thanks!!!!!

Greg,
You answered the real question. I have one without markings that was sold as a 627EL and turned out to be a 1974 427E. Best with your new Beretta.
