My 47E is back from Wenigs Custom Stocks sporting her new stock and forend so I thought I would share the pics.
Wenigs did a great job on the wood selection as well as the wood to metal fit.
Last pic is a comparison shot of my 1620 to the new wood. |

Nice choice. I like straight grain with the mineral streaking. |

Fantastic looking wood. But, why does the grip have that funny curve to it!

Cause that is the way guns are suppose to look.
Two barrels, two triggers and a grip. |

Two barrels, two triggers, and a STRAIGHT grip. |

Purty! (I don't like those straight grips either). |

I'll have to look at that in person. I have one with straight grip you can add to your collection. Nice wood I'll have to see how it shoots. |

Forend is exactly the same in color and grain.
Couple a PMs asked about the price.
Wenigs picked out the wood (I could have done that if I went to their factory), upgraded Extra Fancy wood, cut and fit, layout costs to exactly match my Merkel factory stock, fee for the layout of the checkering to match the Merk factory, oil finish instead of the poly type, shipping and insurance:
$1972.00
I've talked to people that have paid a whole lot more for restocking a gun. I'm happy with the job, especially the fit of the wood to metal and the fit of the wood to the butt plate and end cap on the pistol grip. You can't feel ANY edge at all on either one. It's like they are one piece. |
