Seems there is allways one or two hanging around the house. I grew up on them and still cannot pass on nice clean older vintage single shots when I find them. Just picked up a old Savage stevens 94 like new for $75. Has to be late 60,s vintage . There nice rabbit guns. Some of the nice ones like the Win. M-37,iverjohnson Champion, early stevens are neat shotguns of Americana. My boys all 3 have one. And they can pass them down to there boys. |

These are TRUE hunting guns. Most were used to tackle rabbits to whitetails-without changing chokes Take the time when you are with this gun to remember the history of it's roots |

I grew up shooting a Win 37. Used it on upland birds, waterfowl and trap. Still take it out now and again for grouse. A great gun.

I owe this whole 16 gauge insanity thing I have got going to an old Iver Johnson Champion my dad brought home almost 50 years ago.
I still have it, shoot it and it will be the last gun I part with.
It's just an old hunk of steel and wood and is pretty crudely built compared to the Foxes, L.C.s, Parkers, Winchesters and Ithicas that I have aquired through the years but the fond memories of a boys journey to manhood that it brings back everytime I pick it up makes it priceless. |

Well put twice barrel! My sentiments with the model 37. I had it on hand for one of my first duck hunts' with a shotgun close to forty years ago. I still vividly remember the hunt on a frosty Thanksgiving morning with my father. |

The best one out there, IMO, is the Savage 220. It's hammerless, has a tang safety like a double. And they are much less expensive than a Win 37. |
