Beautiful day on the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area
today
Still a dusting of snow on the Santa Rita Mountains
Went by the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club on my way back to Phoenix to meet with Laura, the club manager. Very nice facility with a full service grill, and lots of experience hosting big shoots. We put up one of our 'Doubles in the Desert' banners to generate interest in the March 1 event. The wobble trap is WAAAY down at the east end of the trap line, so I'll need to recruit a few volunteers (and thanks to those who have already e-mailed me ) to supervise the '25 target 2-man Pheasant Phlush.' I'll plan on greeting participants in the clubhouse, and we'll have a 'white board' to record the high scores in Pheasant Phlush, Classic Skeet, 5-Stand, and 16 yd Trap.
I'll post another reminder Feb. 1 and would very much appreciate anyone remotely considering joining us sending me a PM or e-mail at that time so I can give the club an idea on the number of shooters. They want to reserve enough fields for things to go smoothly, and plan on having a 'purchase targets' window just for us. And feel free to e-mail me at revdoc2@cox.net with any questions or suggestions!
May we all have a wonderful Christmas and blessed 2008, giving thanks to those standing between our families and the bad guys, domestic and foreign. |
