I know we bash the bigbox guys at times. But I bought 2 1/2 Cases of 16g RGL 7 1/2 yesterday at 5.23 each. I'm going to the other store today and buy up what they have.
Not the best bargain I've seen, but better than nothing. Plus it gives me more to reload.
Of course after buying the ammo, I went out and shot a case at clays- Never shot that much in an afternoon- Boy I was beat!
Have a great one.

The Walmart in my area regularly gets them in and I buy all they have when they do. I know that they keep ordering them because they are one of the only ammo types that sells out when they come in. |

$5.23 per box isn't bad at all these days. The Wallies near me don't carry 'em, and the price increases have hit at the GMs, BPSs and Cabela's near me. Best I'm finding these days is $5.99. One of the Dick's stores near me sometimes has 'em at sub $5, but they don't get them in all that often. May have to talk to the gun counter manager ... I shoot with him. |

Walmarts in NJ do not sell ammo.
Dicks gets it in from time to time but no on a regular basis.
I'll just have to be happy with what I have stored for now. |

Well Ash my boy...
You may have been beat at the end of the day, but coming from the "ol' fool" who was pullin' the birds for you and giving you a couple shooting pointers, I can tell you it was time well spent! You were a better and more confident shooter at 4:30 than you were at 1:30.
Plus...it is a lot of good old schoolboy fun, ain't it!

i ventured out to my local Dicks sporting goods last night in search of some 16 gauge remington gl
The dicks in Richfield was sold out hum- looks like shootingsouix, mattson or ted bought them out so I headed a couple more miles south to burnsville and picked up 22 boxes of gl 7 1/2 for 3.48 a box there are still some boxes of 6s left |

Yesterday I passed through the Dicks in Lexington and after much searching found 3 boxes of 16 ga #6's hidden in with the 12 ga. fodder. The 12's were labeled at 4.49 per, but the 16's rang up at 4.99. I gently corrected the young cashier and he quickly changed it to the labeled price.
3 boxes down, many dozens to go. |

I visited my local Dicks yesterday and they had a few loose boxes of 7.5s and one flat of 7.5s. They were 4.99, and 10% off case price. Ended up with the flat for $47.87 including tax. Seems as though every time I visit this store, they have a flat or two, but pricing varies. At least they had them. |

robp, Funny that you say that burnsville had them because the last time I was there I told them I wanted two case and they said they would call me when they came in, so much for customer service, Well good for you I guess I will have to check more often. |

The Walmart near me does not carry them in 16 ga., even though they have them in 12 and 20.
I asked the dept. manager about it, and if she could get them. She was very helpful and tried to look them up, but they were not listed anywhere. They are not an item that the Walmarts in our area even have available as a regular stock item, meaning that she could not get them from a Walmart warehouse. She told me she would check into it further and asked for my phone #.
Two days later she called me and said that they were available as a special order item, $5.23 a box, 5 case minimum.
This was a while ago, when a bunch of guys were posting about the great prices at Dick's, and I passed on it. Of course, when I got to the nearest Dick's, down in Omaha, they had 2 boxes of 16 ga. ammo in the store, no RGLs.
If your local WM doesn't stock them, they can order them, but I would expect the price to be a little higher since it is not a regular stock item in some areas.

Our Wall-Mart does not stock RGL. They do have 16 ga Federals but only in #6 shot. They have both 1 and 11/8 oz Federals. A while ago, I was in talking to the manager and asked why they didn't stock more 16 ga shells. She told me the 16 ga was obsolete and she didn't sell many so she didn't stock much. She did tell me that I could order shells but the minimum order was 5 cases. We looked at her book and it was interesting Federal 8's weren't listed, only 6's. RGL in #8 was an option. So you can order through Wall-Mart but apparently you need to order 5 cases. The pricing is very good and at least it's an option. It beats driving all over to see if anyone has 16 ga shells. In our area, the answer is usually no. With the price of gasoline being what it is, it might be cheaper just to order the five cases from Wall-Mart. |

One of the posters on the Reloading section turned me onto Big 5 carrying the RGL for $5.19/box. I've hit a few of their stores to clear them out of the 16 gauge. They have over 1000 boxes in their warehouse, so I put in a request to send me 50 boxes at their raincheck price.
Good luck |
