| My Dad, bless his heart, gave me a 16 ga Parker Bros. It's got a bit of play and I'm wondering if there's anyway to get it tightened up? |

How much money you got?
There are several methods. The quickest is a shim repair, by the likes of Mike Orlen. A simple shim is soldered on the lump. From there, the cost and complexity quickly rises. Spray welding and refitting is an option, as is machining a dovetail for a fitted sleeve.
They all work.

If you will give us more info on what Model you have, condition, etc we can best suggest what is a realistic direction to go with the gun. Use caution about who it might get sent to. A lot of nice Parkers have been ruined in the wrong hands.

Is it tight when closed but loose when opened or is it loose all the time?

| I don't know the model. It's a little loose when closed, whether shells in or not. |

Then the wear is in the hook and/or bolts and you should get it to a pro to evaluate.
