Hi guys,
I'm looking at purchasing a Rem model 11 (similar to Browning A5), but it has a crack in the forend.
Anyone know where I can find a replacement? Need not be original.
I don't spose a Browning A5 forend would fit, would it?
Thanks!

An Auto-5 forend will not fit....and I do not know anyone who is stocking M11 forends.
But before you do anything drastic post a picture of your cracked forend. I've repaired about 40 of them with good results and it's always nicer to keep original parts on a gun.

Jeff -
I haven't bought the thing yet, but I appreciate the offer and I agree with keeping the original parts. If I complete the deal, I hope to have the original repaired, but use a replacement when shooting. If I get the gun, I'll let you know!!
Mike -
Thanks for the link, but they are out of stock.

97,
PM me with an email address and I'll forward pics of the first year Remington humpback wood I just restored.
It was split through the "spine", end to end, and came out great.

Jeff,
I just got another "sweet 16" , the forearm on it is cracked, the portion bwt. the bbl. and the mag. tube, right thru the serial no. and on the right side, when I force it open a little bit to see how bad and how far, I can tell that one causes the other to open as well. About 4 inches on the right and the middle is 3.35 in.
Would you be interested in helping me figure out how to do A epoxy job and or what would you charge me to fix it?
Also I can't pin down the yr. of manufacture with the thread availible here. Serial no. is X27426. Safty is in front of trigger guard.
Thanks in advance

Griff,
Your gun is coming up on it's 50th birthday, it was made in 1949.
Those cracks can be repaired but will require refinishing as all the oil needs to get pulled out of the wood to get good ashesion and that will pull off the finish as well.
The front crack is from the barrel rebounding too hard into the forend and It is often caused by someone shooting it without the friction rings in place. People are tempted to remove the rings when a gun is not cycling well, that is usually gummed up lube in the gun....
I have and can fix this or coach you through it. I'll PM you with my email address.

I saw a forearm on e-bay just today. It said A-5 or model 11, but it looks like a model 11 with that rounded up turn that they have on the front end.
Hope it helps. Item no is 120249279958.
