I can hardly wait. I was mowing the yard this morning and a big dove flew right over into the yard. With dove season also comes squirrel season. |

51 days for me, Sharptail & Huns with my 5 1/2 lb 16 & Blue Grouse with my muzzle loader. The tubes on the ML are a bit oversize but works well with a med 16 gauge load. |

66 days until the opener of grouse season in Michigan. I usually do not venture out until the beginning of October unless it is cool in mid-Sept. Getting antsy. |

50 days here, if I counted correctly. Just checked 2 nests in the pecan orchard, both birds still setting. The Argentinian half parrot squalking doves are big and fat; saw one yesterday evening after I got home that looked almost albino.
I'd better buy a new reloader, I have two big carton of hulls and only 10 flats of loaded ammunition ready. Well there's some of that larger gage, but they don't really count.
Oh boy, this is gonna be fun. Hey I might buy that remington 870 I saw at ......

Excited for the prospects this year, I'll finally be around for opening day in VA, and I've been invited for opening weekend near San Antonio a few weeks after. I'll see more doves in TX in a day then I'd see in VA for a year. |

Reret to say I couldn't and obviously didn't, this is the first chance I've had to look at this lately..too much travel, work and so foth, all poor excuses I know..
... and there's still a few nesting in the pecans, one ol' girl did the flutter down out of the tree yesterday when I went by her tree..
but those parrot-dives are looking very tempting..
licenses go on sale the 15th, season opens the 1st of September...
