I was third in line for a female out of this litter of Wirehaired Vizslas. So it was very exciting to hear last night that she had SIX females and three males! Mid September we’ll be taking a road trip to Illinois to pick up my next dog!

How exciting the pups look great. Good luck I think you picked a good breed and will enjoy the dog for a long time. Join NAVHDA and read the green book you'll be fine. |

Thanks! I've already contacted a nearby chapter and am going to go be a spectator at some training events coming up. Can't start too early, right?!? |

Congratulations on the birth of your puppy! Sometimes my dog Hank acts like he was born yesterday too. |

Cute pups! I grew up with American Brittany's and currently have two. They're amazing bird dogs, super smart, and have excellent temperments.
Don't let this photo of 2 year old Maverick (left) and 6 year old Ellie (right) living the life of luxury deceive you.... they are Pheasant seeking missiles!

My Dad and his buddies hunted with Brittanies when I was a kid and we had one growing up. Misty was her name, the first dog I remember. Dad's long gone but I think his friends still have Brittanies to this day. |

I am already hard at work on that one!!! I have a few on the short list, but will wait to announce a name until later when I'm sure I'm comfortable with it... |

You just added time to your tombestone. You can't help but possum grin when you get a look at those pups, and people that grin more live longer and are better looking!

Congrats - - looks like you will have a choice to make with all the females. When I was waiting for my female lab to be born with first pick rights, there were eight pups in the litter and ONE was a female. Made the choosing easy. |

Congrats on the pup. They are a cute bunch.
Not to rain on your parade, but my "pup" who is now 8 months old, chewed the cuff off of a pair of dress pants, and then chewed a hole in the carpet about the size of a basket ball. Just a little reminder.
I do it just for laughs, she could have eaten the entire carpet, and I just can't make hunting season come any faster.
No greater joy then having a puppy (except children, none of which by the way were worth a darn at smelling pheasants) HA!
Good luck and keep us posted. I am semi curious to the behaiors of a wire haired Viszla |

Been a while since I've updated with a recent pic, but here are the pups at about 3 to 3 1/2 weeks old. They'll be four weeks tomorrow and I'll probably get new pics tomorrow. They are getting so big!!
