Using the middle of the grip as the location of the nose, I have about 1/2 inch to play with. I will play with the pencil a little bit more and see where it comes to. |

After laying off for a month I am back at it again and close to finishing it. I will do the checkering after hunting season and after I change anything that I don't like. I have 5 coats of Lin-Speed oil on it and am going for 2 more before reassembling the gun.

Gents,
On sanding and development of inside radii; there are available mini-drum sanders in a variety of diameters. A rubber drum on a mandrel to chuck into a drill and various grits of sandpaper circular sleeves that fit the drum. These are incredibly handy and quick for shaping and finishing those inside curves.
Lovely job grousehunter, I'm curious how you managed on the inletting for the receiver and the thru stock bolt hole.
Cheers,
R*2
Here's a link to give you an idea of the tool(s). Not expensive, I've used them extensively for boatbuilding and cabinetmaking, damn handy IMHO.
