OK, Cheddite hulls seem to be popular, but seem awful expensive. Are they good or just available? How many GOOD reloads can you get out of them? |

I get 8 to 10 out of mine, but they're all low pressure loads.
Your loads may vary.
I load Cheddite hulls in 20,16, and 12 gauge.
I can't get the 28 gauge hulls to load worth a darn. |

Graf&Sons sells them for $12.59 per hundred or you can buy loaded Wincester Super X (the ones made in Australia) and make your own once fired hulls. I get 6 - 8 loads before they start splitting then trim them to 2 9/16th inches and get 4 or 5 more loadings using a roll crimp. |

I use them almost interchangeably. I do get longer life out of the Cheddite hulls. And I think Cheddites roll crimp easier, but it may just be me. |

Which Winchester 16 ga loads are made in Australia? |

The 16 gauge Super X in the Silver box. They are only available in #6 and #8 shot. Slightly less velocity and recoil than Remington's Game Loads. |

Gentlemen,
I have found a few boxes of Super X Game loads, 2 3/4", 2 1/2 dram, 1 oz 8's. The hull is red and ribbed.
Any idea of pressure in these factory loads?
How would these reload?
I have not found a "suitable" load in the low pressure group, assuming these are Winchester WAA CF hulls?
Am I correct in seeing some loads with 20 gauge wads?

Current Winchester Super X are not compression formed hulls. They are a Cheddite or Cheddite clone of the Reifenhauser design.
When tested last they produced an average velocity of 1160 fps at 9300 psi chamber pressure.
These hull reload nicely, use Cheddite loading data.
20 gauge wads are recommended for use in Remington Game Load (Black Hulls) or SP hulls (Green Hulls) and Winchester "compression" formed hulls. |

Twice Barrel,
Thank you for your answer.
These are in a silver box and I forgot to look at the crimp, 6 or 8.
I can look at Cheddite hull information in the low pressure group?

I shorten the Win Super X and load them just like the Cheddite 2.5in hulls with a six point crimp. Can't tell the diff. Bob |

Shot a box of these Super X game loads today. They are indeed poly-formed hulls with a basewad, not compression formed.
When I start loading, I will use Cheddite hull data.
