I just ended up with 500 16 ga. Activ primed hulls thanks to my local gunshop's "Have I got a deal for you"! My question is do I need one of those Mec super star crimper tools or will a regular Mec crimper on a loading press work??? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Usually the Activ hulls will crimp up well with a standard crimp starter. I have a case and half of the 12 ga Activ hulls and have had no problems with crimps on them using the MEC.
UH you wouldn't want to part with any of them would you????

I'll let you know this afternoon. I have some new 2.5in Fiocchi hulls and will try my new 6pt plastic crimp starter if the brown truck arrives today. The 8 pt starter doesn't work to well.

The plastic 6pt Mec crimp starter works great. Just loaded up a box of low pressure 2.5in shells Smile

I appreciate the information. I will save my $25.00 and see how things work out.
