I'm new to this sight but have been reading many of the post. Has been very interesting.
I have several 16ga. a couple of model 12's I've used since I was fourteen.

I am busy redoing a side by side 16 beretta. I have open the left barrel full choke to a modified. Lengthed the chambers to 2-3/4 and extened the forcing cones.
Restocking the wood. Had a friend who got me some very nice wood from texas that is very fine grain with almost a yellow tint to it with very black viens in it. I have been making a curved buttpad from it. I don't know what kind of wood it is though.

If all of this comes out ok I might go ahead and reblue the barrels and reciever. I used to do gun blueing years ago but sold my equipment. A friend of mine has blueing tanks so I will do the polishing and use his equipment for the blueing if I choose to.

Anyway I'm another Indiana boy and hope to be talking to many of you.

PS. Wolfchief buy the chokes and don't start know fires

Welcome to the board!
A word of caution that you probably already know, but just in case.....
If your barrels are soft-soldered together, don't hot-blue them or you may end up with two or more pieces Crying or Very sad

I all aready checked them out. I have blued many of sxs and have been very lucky and have not had any come apart yet.
An old gunsmith I knew that past on several years ago showed me what to watch for and caution on how to blue them. So far it has done me well.
Thanks for the caution though. Bill E.

About 40 miles south of Southbend where Highway 30 and 31 cross each other.

Welcome to the board. You'll find lots of good info and help here and a little ribbing if you venture off in the right path. Most of these posts are pretty serious, but some get down right funny. Make a comment about the relationship of you, your guns, and women an see what happens Smile Wink Welcome anyway. mod11rem
