I acquired a clean used 1620 about 6 weeks ago, and although I did take it to my last hunt of the season in KS, we didn't find any birds. So today, I went to the preserve to give the pups a workout and try out the new gun. And what a success it was! I nailed 8 out of 10 in a stout 20 mph wind on some tough crossing shots. I haven't shot a 16ga on birds before and I was very impressed! When I did my part - POW! I went to a 16ga from 20ga to compensate for the longer shots on tougher birds than my former hunting grounds for quail in Texas. A little struggle with the double triggers but I did get a double with the second bird going down at about 40 yds after I finally found the second trigger. I the Merkel fits perfectly, handles like a dream, and a joy to carry.

Sorry for the windy post, but I am excited.

Hc

Congrats on the purchase of 1 fine gun. Glad you shoot it well. My 47E has put a pile of pheasants in the freezer this year.

You'll love the 1620---it's an upland bird getter if ever there was one.
