Do Association Members have access to some special 16 gauge loading data? If yes, would someone direct me to it? I now have plenty of hulls, wads, and powder--but need some good recipes.

Many thanks,

Hal, there is a 16ga Low Pressure Reloading Group. Contact RWG on this site with a PM about joining.

Hal that would be money well invested we have current load data which is impossible to be gleaned from any reloading data simply because they don't have the information. Most loads are dated at least by five years --the data we have is updated and effective.

Tell me more about this subgroup, please. What is the cost? Must you already be amember of the 16 gauge society?

I don't really care about low pressure loads, as I neither shoot a vintage gun nor do I have a problem with the recoil of my one ounce loads; but rather I am looking for 12 gauge powder recipes for the 16 gauge.

You do not have to be a member of the 16 Gauge Society. Membership was $20 when I joined. It's well worth it.

Hal:

Which 12 ga. powders are you interested in? Most fast burn rate 12 ga. powders are not a good for 1 oz. 16 ga. loads since they produce pressures near on excess of SAAMI pressures with only moderate velocities in the 16 bore. But the group has had success with certain 12 ga. powders, especially those of moderate burn rates commonly used in heavy payloads in 12 ga. guns. And even faster burn rate powders can be used with lower for gauge payloads. Russ
