I have had this problem as well. I have had shells that were loaded tight with a fairly heavy shot load and carried in the shell pockets (nose down) of a vest for a day, then rattled when I took them out. After having a couple of 'foofer' shots at birds earlier I opened them up and there was a significant amount of powder in the wad.

All kinds of things can go wrong when we hunt long and hard in tough, wet, cold conditions. Even heat sealed factory loads can be ruined from too much exposure to the elements. I've learned to place my loads in a plastic food bag and carry them inside my coat to protect them when things get nasty. It can't hurt to take an ounce of prevention. A few dry rounds are far better than a dozen cold, wet ones when it's time to shoot. It's a lot better than flushing a bird after hunting for long cold hours only to hear the round go poof instead of kaboom.

Yes I have experienced powder migration with Longshot, and W-Wsuper field being the most prevalent at current time. Using Cheddite hulls and R-16 wads with super field and sp-16 wads with longshot. Both problems cured when switching over to gulandi wads and of course loads that have been tested with said components.

I have siliconed the ends and dripped hot wax on the ends at different timea to seal shells. I recently purchased some Wolf primers and used them on my last dud, but I have not heard anyone having problems with them, so I am presuming it was migration. Wad stuck in the barrel on that one. I always check if I have a 'foofer' just to be sure about a clear barrel.
