Looking at a Stevens mod 311 in 16 gauge,fair to good condition,any
opinions on price or value |

Thanks for the heads up on the 311,was not sure,looked at some sale sites and basicly the same,this is a great site,keep up the good work

I bought a 311 , actually 2, as "beater/back-up sxs". Cut the stock to fit me , cut the second one for my young son. Fired over 300 mag win 1 1/8oz shot in mine at crows.
Really abused it and they have held up fine no problems. Lots of parts out there too if you need them. I don't care for a 311 in 12ga the whole gun seems bulky, not bad in 20ga. |

Greg,I agree with you on the 12 gauge,but the 16 seems a bit lighter,
but it,s a 16 and we can tough it out, the twenty is very nice also |

My 16ga Stevens 5100 (311) with 28" barrels weighs dead nuts on 7lbs; no lightweight, but certainly not bad. I have a Fox Model B (which is basically a 311) in 12ga, also with 28" barrels, which weighs 7lbs-4oz, almost exactly the same as my 12ga Sterlingworth. Still, the Sterly feels a bit more svelte compared to the Model B. |
