I'm looking at the Ballistics Products 5th Edition "The Sixteen Gauge Manual" for SR-7625 loads. One problem... in contains almost no data for Remington hulls.
Another possible problem... they have a couple loads for 2.5 inch and 2.75 inch Fiocchi-hulls, sg-16 wad, 7/8oz. and 1oz. lead loads calling for 26 and 27 grains of SR 7625.
Is this excessive?
It seems to me like I've had good luck with as little as 19-22 grains in Rem. Black Hulls and sg-16 wads... I just can't find that recipe that I've seen published before. And your low pressure group doesn't show any loads using more than 23 gr. of SR 7625 (most are around 20 gr.).
How much pressure increase should be expected with 25% more 7625 powder? |

Sage Grouse look at the 11th load on the 16 gauge reloader group data for Reminton SP hulls. I think it will work out well for you.
If you haven't joined the group yet you are missing out on 120 (yes I said 120) loads using Reminton Black and SP hulls.
Additional loads are being tested every day.
Best $30.00 you will have spent if you load for the 16 gauge. |

I only load 24 grains of 7625 in my 12ga field loads and get 1190 fps. |

The latest edition of IMR's loading data, listed three loads as follows.
Rem. case for all three with 7625
Winchester primer, WAA 16 wad, 22.5 grains of 7625
Even the Federal case on used 26.5 grains for a maximum.
I would not use any of that material, as I trust the manufacturers data the most. |
