A stroke to luck, someone I know is moving, and they gave me a MEC 650. He said it has the "bars" for loading 1#@!! gauge and 16 GA.

I suspect I'll need a scale (balance beam?), but what other equipment do I need?

What are good sources for reloading data for my hulls?

Thanks!

Michael

Most of the commercially-available books have recipies for defunct components, and a few for currently-available parts. The 16 guage group is an excellent source for recipies; send a PM to RWG if you're interested (there is a modest fee). If you search thoroughly enough on this site, you'll find some recipies as well. The group, though, is excellent--I made some low-recoil loads that my wife doesn't even feel and loves to shoot.

Welcome aboard! With the data, you'll be able to build loads you won't be able to buy anywhere.

Michael - the low pressure group has a lot of good data as referenced above. You can also get a 16 ga loading manual from BPI with good data that is reasonably current.. BPI is also a good source reloading components. The powder scale will insure that you are throwing proper powder weights. Decide what loads you want to try and you might need to get a couple of additional powder bushings. If you didn't get the manual with your loader, you will need one.

Have fun!
