I hunt with 8 guys, not all at the same time, but in groups of 2-3 and at the most 4. If you include me, 3 of us shoot a 16 Ga. and the rest shoot either 12 or 28 Ga. shotguns. The 16 Ga. guys shoot a Parker, Merkel and an AyA, not bad company when you think about it. 3 out of 9 is a high percentage of 16 Ga. shooters in any one group. How many of your friends shoot a 16 Ga.?

I don't consider them friends, if they don't shoot a 16 gauge! Wink

Three for me and only one is a relative.
It's sad to know that many of the younger generations are not even aware of 16ga.

I am only 27 and I am the only person I know that shoots them. Another guy my age has a Sweet Sixteen he is holding for the mother of a friend who passed away. Besides that its all 20 and 12.

I'm the only one among my regular hunting companions, the rest shoot 12's, 20's and one shoots a 28. I do have a very good buddy who collects guns - in shotguns he is a 16 gauge collector (and has some very nice ones), but he doesn't hunt anymore (and he even has a cornfield in his backyard!)

Just one. Another a 28 and 8 others a 20 (and this is for grouse and woodcock). Eight use a 12 for pheasant and two use their 20's for pheasant.

All of them, because they always want to hunt with mine. Cheap bastards.

No friends. My brother shoots an older short chambered A5 in 16.

I hunt with 3 other guys, none of whom owned 16s when I first met them 8-10 years ago. Now they all at least own a 16. I like to think I was a good influence on them! One guy has a beurtiful Philly Sterlingworth, one guy has a Fox Model B; and the 3rd fellow has an Ithica Flues. I'm really the only one in the group who regularly uses a 16 (mostly my Uggie), the others use them only occasionally.

I don't hunt, but I shoot a lot of clays. No one but me uses a 16 in the groups that I shoot with. 12s are predominant, with 20s and 28s dragging up the rear. They laugh at me, but I simply laugh back and keep 16ing!
