Bought a test fired only, circa 1960 model 12 recently. Only problem is that so far with Estate and Kent shells, the gun does not eject about 50% of empties. They extract out of chamber fine but it is as if opened crimp is hindering ejection. My gunsmith and I are stumped.
Any thoughts please on this problem? Or should I keep trying different shells? Thanks

My son shoots his great grandfathers 16ga M12. He normally shoots Fiocchi 1 oz loads but tried a box of Estates. This gun never jams, even with my reloads Laughing He had 20% of the Estates that failed to eject. I would try another brand of ammo.

I'll echo what Bronco says.....in my Model 12 full choke 16 ga, the Federals jam upon attempts at ejection---nothing else does. Reloads work fine, as do Winchesters and Remingtons. I'm betting with Win or Rem you'll have no problems.

It's possible the shell rim is a bit too small or tapered and the extractor isn't getting a good enough bite to hold the shell until the ejector kicks it out. you might want to give Alliant a heads up. They will want to fix the problem. They are a good company for following through on problems.
