Odd thing; the Beretta/Daly Empire was made in 16 non-selective. It was a clone of a GR3 with the exception the GR3 had ejectors and SS trigger, but the GR3 was not offered in 16.
I almost bought off GB a GR4 IN 16, but it had double triggers. My book says the GR4 was offered with SS trigger; so there might be a couple out there.

I guess that means this one's not a candidate either

Nope! I've been looking around at some of the various sites and have seen the 21's. Nice too. Hey, do you know if the safety on the Ithaca 37 Featherweight 16 Pump is interchangeable? A lefty friend has one and has asked.

The AYA Matador is the most reasonably priced 16 gauge side x side with single selective trigger that I've encountered. These guns don't have the fit and finish of higher end guns but I shoot mine well and have no complaints with its function.

This one seems to be priced pretty high even if it is in "superb original condition" as stated by the seller. http://www.gunsamerica.com/914174494/Guns/Shotguns/AYA-Shotguns/AyA_Matador_16ga_Dbl.htm

Most of these guns sell for $400-800 depending on condition. This one has what appears tobe a Pachmayr recoil pad added but these guns are not really collectible and the LOP and price are right!

I beleive there is a retrofit available for a left handed safety, but the 37 afficinados on this site would know better than I. You could try looking on Ithaca, Brownells or Midway Shooter's web sites or even just google it; http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_it_possible_to_switch_the_safety_on_an_Ithaca_model_37_to_be_easier_for_left_handed_shooter_to_use

Brownell's, Diamond gunsmithing, and the Ithaca company all have lefty safety's for Ithaca 37s. Pretty cheap, I think you need an FFL to get one from Brownell's.
This safety can be modified to fit a Remington 17, also.

Best,
Ted

Diamond gunsmithing required an FFL to ship a Model 37 left hand safety. Ithaca Gun Company will sell them without an FFL and they have the cheapest price I've found.

I too have a 1966 16 Matador SS trigger that has been around the block a few times and has the scars to show it; no problems.
