Yea, we had a good day. We shot 50+ birds. They were running and getting up 100+ yards in front so we went to the Jersey deer drive methods to shoot birds in the fields. Very Happy Then we hunt and pecked along the rivers and swamp to pick up the stragglers.
I shot 20 or so. The Girls, my Drahthaars, and I along with 4 friends had a hell of a day. Mostly roosters but some hens mixed in.

The only thing I didn't get yesterday was the one and only white pheasant that I saw. It came out about 75 yards in front of us. When I got up to the area the dogs started tracking and scenting but we never located it. I WANTED that bird. Oh well, maybe Sunday. Very Happy

And yes, the 16 ga. Sterlingworth worked like a champ as did the Merkel in the PM session.
I started out with some 2.5" RST loads and switched to the Fiocchi Golden Pheasant loads in the afternoon for the longer shots. That stuff dropped them like bricks. Exclamation

Glad to hear it, I wasn't sleeping well, sick with apprehension.
.
I was asking about his shoe hunting wife(see earlier post), and if she was joining us.
.
Tjc's the big blood thirsty bird killer. I'm happy with a 30ish bird day, Tom needs to be close to seeing 45 + or he makes everyones life tuff. Heard a story about the guys comming for lunch and after 115 min he made them go back out, cause daylite was a burning and there were still many birds to slay..... I think that was a hundredish bird day for his group

hard to talk bad about his dog's, yet, as I haven't had the privilage of seeing them work. Now my buddy Mike's Ice cream eatin, girly dog Spinoni's, well thats a different story. He's got 5 of them, they got so bad he had to start living with his trainer(good thing she's cute, and used to be a good cook as well) but now, she spends all her time teaching them to runn off, bust birds, and pee on stuff. Heck the 5 of them can't find as many birds as my stupid ch lab, who's once again lay under my dsk and growling at his toy duck.

Wow, I sit at my desk for 5 hours doing work and there is all kinds of stuff going on here. LOL

No on the company. Although I could make some phone calls. LOL

7:30ish is fine. What do you guys like to drink and how many are there? Some beer, wine?

Now, as far as shooting birds goes. When I go hunting, I hunt. These guys wanted to stand around, sit around etc and shoot nothing but BS. That day you are talking about was 131 pheasants in 8 hours for four guys. We still had an hour of daylight and they all quit on me. LOL
We won't be shooting anything like that this weekend. There are birds there but not like the last couple of times.

The dogs are wound up tight. They haven't hunted much in the last 3 weeks and they are wired. Took about 30 minutes for them to slow down Monday. We're going to school them and me in May. We need to polish the edges a bit. But they do retrieve rather well. Reba had 3 water retrieves the other day on pheasants that landed in the river by the swamp. Dixie had 1.
I had 3 doubles the other day too. That was rather neat. 2 sets of roosters and a set of hen/rooster.

See ya Sat night.

I heard Tjc shot 100 of those by himself, and the dogs were good for 20 unassisted (no gun required)

No need to bring anything. I'll bring a few bottles of 2buck chuck for dinner and some medium grade single malt for after.

Yea Dave and Steve still tell of you walking those other guys into the ground.

Talked to Stacy this am to confirm, she says hi.

PM when you get a chance with phone #'s my computer got a upgrade and now all the memory has gone to the great recycle bin in the sky
