At the Appleton Gander Moutain they have a very nice sweet 16 in stock.
The gun is in great shape and Belgium made. However I have sticker shock, flipping the hang tag a $969 jumped out.
Are these really trading at that price?
A very nice gun but at that seems high to me.
And it only has 1 barrel

16crazy,
Prices are only out of whack until someone pays them. I was looking at a real nice Sweet16 with a vent rib barrel a while back. It was at a fairly large gun shop here in NJ. They wanted $1500 for it. It was really nice, but. I got them down to $1250 but that was it. I felt it still too high and passed on it.
They sold it a week later. So somebody paid at least $1250 if not more for that one. Go figure. |

Last month I sold a 1958 Sweet 16, 26" IC plain, all original, 90% gun for $1100. Took about a week to sell.

Ya know, for the difference of $900 over the one I was looking at here in NJ, I can see the price tag on the DU gun. New, unfired, highly engraved etc. But a plain Sweet16 w/vent rib at $1500, not me. Especially since I wouldn't use it much.
I know it's just me and everyone has their own likes, but the semi autos just don't do it for me. Sorry. |

There is a point where something is priced outside it's value whether it be a vehicle or a shotgun. The smart buyer knows where this line is and holds to it |

Look for a Savage 720 or Remington Model 11 in 16 Gauge. Same functionality, and no "Sweet 16" monkier to inflate the price unreasonably (although their prices seem to be going up as well).
