Very sad cant believe someone would do that to a solid rib model 12, I wouldn't be surprised if that gun sold for less than $50 |

I don't EVEN want to open that link--Why do idiots insist on ruining a fine firearm??????Over the years I have seen this firsthand too many times |

A lot of people see guns as tools, just like a hammer or a screwdriver - an implement designed to perform a task. Only guns loonies (like us) get all enraptured with rare features, etc., - that is what makes us, er, uh, unique! (Note I did not say "nuts" "crazy" "obsessed", etc.) |

Never attribute to malice that which can be attributed to stupidity.
He could jack up interest by stating that it can be "slam fired" and just omit mentioning the issues of sprained wrists and control. |

Heck...if I was a police officer in El Paso, I'd gladly have modified that firearm in such a manner and keep it close beside me to handle gang thugs! Lovely weapon and peace enforcer! Load it up with Number Four Buck and you'd be set.
Come to think of it, that is true for many cities in this country! Even for some smaller towns too...like Greenville, NC where Old Hunter lives...it has been taken over by the thugs lately! |

Might have been an obstruction in the end of the barrel. This happens more often then one thinks, sometimes it is mud, snow or even a wad. Have seen a number of them over the years. |

Suprised it wasn't listed as a "excellent grouse gun, short OAL won't hang trees or vines" |

Old Southern Lawyer - you are right about that. Local affiliates of the Crips and Bloods shooting it out almost nightly in West Greenville and crime all over the town. Sure not what it was when I grew up here - large university to attract criminals, drugs, turf wars, a large welfare class that keeps growing, etc. |

Yep, Old Hunter...the place sure has changed!
I grew up in eastern NC and still have many family members and good friends living there. In fact, before law school and a law career primarily spent in DC, I was a member of the faculty at East Carolina for a few years! GO Pirates!!! It was a fine place to live, work and have plenty of harmless fun!
TOO BAD IT HAS STARTED GOING TO HELL.
I hear Kinston and Rocky Mount are also in the running these days for "thug paradise." Sorry to see such otherwise nice and friendly places going to the dogs. |

It's not limited to cities anymore. We have had a rash of people coming to rural Kansas, stripping homes on daylite Sundays when folks are at church. My 1 mile away closest neighbor, caught a Van leaving his place full of his goods, and dumped 28 .223's into the back of it. The sheriiff said it made it easy to find. Neighbor expressed sorrow at the shooting as one of the bullets shattered his flatscreen..The culprits were from Denver, and of minority origin...... |

Wow... not a turn of conversation I would have imagined on this board.

Good Lord! Thugs casing homes in rural Kansas...who'd-a thunk it??!!
Not to get political here, but if the disciplines of history and economics teach us anything, it is that when a society reaches a "tipping point" where there are more dependent "Takers" rather than working, tax-paying "Producers" in the system, it will not last much longer. I think that unless we do something to make big changes in social and tax policy very soon, there will be very BIG trouble ahead for the USA when the money runs out and we are not in a position to keep borrowing trillions.
I guess we could take our toys and go to Uruguay to spend our golden years...good fishing and bird shooting down there and it is likely to be a lot more stable and peaceful than up here, too! |

The reality in my neighborhood is that white meth heads from Kansas (or feeding drugs into Kansas) are kicking in back doors. |
