I have 2 Ith m37-s. One is a 1955 vintage, 28" Modified and makes a decent Phez gun for lead shot.

The other is similar vintage but 28" full choke. Got this one at a very good price & is probably a 70% condition firearm with no cracks in the wood & a mirror bore. This is the one I am considering having choke tubes installed if possible & does not cost a small fortune. Would make a decent grouse gun (for a pump).

Both these pieces are 16 ga. Not a lot of local, smaller gunsmith shops have the 16 ga. tooling (around N. MN anyway).

Who / what company would handle this? Anyone have a handle on
a rough idea of cost? I could just have it opened up to cyl/ skt/ i.c..
Or, (uh, oh) put an adjustable choke on the end?

The guy to go to and discuss with is Les Hovencamp at Diamond Gunsmithing.
He is the The man and has done work for me fitting barrels to an Ithaca 1941 M37 16 gauge. He will know or provide suggestions.-Dick

Mike Orlen has the best choke tube installation prices I've found and does good work promptly, but the Colonial choke system he uses requires minimum .750" O.D. and .668" maximum I.D. barrel dimensions. Briley will install choke tubes in almost any modern gun at a significant extra price.

Fourtrax,
If it's the gun that needs work Les Hovencamp is the guy. But if it is just barrel work go with Mike Orlen
