Hi all, just wanted to offer the opportunity for anyone interested in join another Bismuth Shot group effort. The reason I'm doing this personally is because the minimum amount of metal I need to order for the best possible price has already been met by a single person. So before I order the raw metal for alloying, I wanted to see if anyone else was interested. Unfortunately, with bismuth climbing as it has in the last two years, the best I can offer is $21.99/lb, but that is still a bit better than PR, and it's the same price I was able to offer to the the Oct 2010 group. When I can no longer at least match their prices, then I'm done, but for now, I'm still here. I've discovered I can now pack up to 12lbs (rather than 10) into a single USPS small flat rate box for about $6 anywhere in the US, so shipping is still cheap at least. The sizes I am capable of making is still limited to #9, 8, 7.5, and #6, 5, and 4. Sorry, nothing bigger than #4, I just can’t figure out how to get it to come out decent enough to offer. My pellets still tend to run about .25-.5 size larger than nominal on average, so no worries about pellets being undersized. These group efforts are difficult to put together, and don't happen very often, so I wanted to put this out there. If interested, please let me know by Sunday, January 16th, 2011. I'm placing the metal order on the 17th and I generally don't have much leftover shot due to its high cost just sitting on my reloading bench. My direct contact is <lundsspecialtyproducts@hotmail.com>
Hope everybody had a good hunting season and a happy holiday season,
Master Tinkerer |

Hi all, thanks to those that contacted me about this. This is a last call message for this group effort, as I need to place the bulk metal order tomorrow. I can still take requests until mid-afternoon tomorrow.
Thanks again,
MT

Update:
To the guys on the latest group effort, I still have not been able to get the bulk metal comming - sorry. My bismuth suppliers are having a difficult time comming up with new metal. I've been in constant almost daily contact with them, but no luck so far. They assure me that they have several hundred pounds comming in, but are unsure when it will arrive. My order is earmarked to come out first when it does finally show up. The price of bismuth has also gone up a full dollar/lb and appears ready to climb again soon, but due to my prepayment, our price was locked in, so no worries. I apologize for the delay, I'm doing the best I can. Even if this falls through, They assured me that I'd get refunded so I can get all your money back to you, but I don't believe that will be an issue. I will do my best to keep you updated.
Thanks,
MT |

6/7 orders have gone out. To yous guys on board, you should have received an email with your tracking info. Thanks again for your support and patience. This time `round was a real challenge between the heavy snow here and metal shortages, but this one is finally comming to a close.
To anyone else interested in Bismuth shot, due to badly inflated bismuth and tin prices, I can't hardly beat PR's shot prices anymore. I will always be around, and since I use the stuff myself, I fully plan on keeping my gear in good working order, but I think I'm being pushed out finally. My advice is to check with me on prices, but to probably order from PR. If they are out of stock, or their prices get "stupid" high, (or if ya just want my shot at the best price I can offer,) I'll be standing by to assist.
Thanks to all of you, it was my pleasure to help out supplying bismuth when no one else could, and it's been fun hearing all the great hunting stories and feedback. Take care and happy hunting.

Thanks Phil for all you have provided to us. I have used your product for a couple of years and I'm happy to say that I still have about 15#'s left.

Hi all,
If anyone is interested, I have about 40-50lbs of #5 leftover on my bench and ready to ship. I had someone back out of a large order, so am kinda stuck with it. I'm trying to recover some of the huge costs I've got sunk into this batch. I can let quantities of it go for $21.99/lb. This was supposed to be my last major order due to crazy metal costs this year, and I stated above that I was more or less finished, so this is a major sting. Lol. I had cleared everything else out (or loaded other leftovers for myself), but I cannot hope to use up this much extra. This large batch of #5's is all I have left. I just wanted to toss this out there for anyone interested. Just shoot me an email.
Thank you,
MT |

| Phil, I ordered 60 lbs of two different sizes and paid for it on 010611 via PayPal for $1331.05 to Lunds Specialty Products. I hope that is not me you are talking about. I am still waiting for my order and was the one that got the ball rolling on this. My private emails to you were un-answered, so I write this openly. If there is some mistake please let me know. Thank you. |

its a pretty sore subject for me. they used it as an excuse to close down our shooting club. |

I don't think too many public wetlands allow anything but non-toxic shot these days. One of the trap clubs I belong to has launched a massive lead reclamation effort at their site. I think part of it was to stave off exactly what you said happened to your club. If they can’t take the guns away, make it too expensive to keep them.
I am in Washington State and more lands every year are non-toxic shot only. Not just wetlands either. We have gone all non-toxic for bird hunting just so there is not a mistake made. The fines and loss of license is not to be taken lightly. On the other side, some of the shot that is heavier then lead really reach out there, plus, you can drop a size so there are more pellets. Still one of the cheapest parts of bird hunting when you think about it. |
