Did you see this on gb? From the APPARENT condition in the photos, this looks to be a very good buy, starting at $500

I'm all tapped out right now, or I'd consider bidding!

In some of those photos it almost looks like part of the action has been painted black! Sure is shiney and doesn't appear have any wear marks. Might just be the photos though. Question

To me from those pictures, it looks like both the barrels and the receiver have been blued. And whats with the brass colored firing pins? Confused

Agree with Dave and Fin-clearly appears to have been re-blued (can't identify any damascus pattern on the brls) and the side-plates likely re-case colored (possibly chemically). Pad (60's style) likely added when stock re-finished. Have NEVER seen a LC or Ithaca SxS with brass firing pins?? (but sure ain't seen um' all)
What part of 'original' is the seller referring to?

Well, maybe all that is why I shared it here.....maybe it is not all that it should be......on first look, I took the dark and shiny appearance to be a recently oiled surface.......but you are right, the lister made no effort to demonstate the damascus pattern.......

Note also that he is a non-rated seller..!

If any of you want to buy into believing that is a unmolested Elsie please call me immediately.
I have a picturesque bridge for sale with stunning views of the Brooklyn skyline that I would like to discuss with you.

I see this gun made the forum over at Gunshop.com, too. Most seem to agree it's a long way from an original Elsie, though possibly a good candidate for a restoration (but not at the seller's price).
