Greetings
Has anyone had experience with a gunsmith / shop removing dents from side by side barrels? I dropped my Ruger gold label and dented the left barrel.
Ruger has no replacement barrel sets, so i need to find a reliable shop to do the work.
The following have been recommended:
Ruger advised the Orvis shop,
Griffen and Howe is known for a very reliable gunsmith
The gunsmith at Champlin Firearms also has a good reputation.
Obviously, i need a shop / gunsmith that knows what they are doing, or could end up worse off than what i am know.
Thanks in advance for any experiences / suggestions[/b]

Lots of smiths won't touch them because the outcome is never up to the standard of the gun owner.

Cosmetic differences between bluing colors, possible ripples where the dents were pushed back out, as well as, liability due to the weakened strength of the steel at that location in the barrel are a couple other reasons most won't do it either.

Fairly common procedure, with the right tools.
