Gotta weigh in here.

I reload constantly - some of you have seen that I shoot up to 12,000 shells each year. BEST release for grading frustration I have EVER found. Start reading those papers or grading those tests and pretty soon "frustration" and I'm in the reloading room (which fortunately is situated just off the home office) yanking on the presses. Load a couple hundred and then I can face reality again.

revdocdrew - can't help you with the "sheepish" look. You are on your own. You will, however, have this worked out before I visit m mother-in-law sometime in the next 5 years?

ONE of us oughta be broke within the next 5 yrs but right now it's an even bet Confused

More frustration but also good news THANKS to IFL16's. Called Firearm Service Center again and now they say the 16g. Kent Traditional Upland loads will not be in until mid-June BUT Larry found out that Ballistic Products ( www.ballisticproducts.com ) has them in stock NOW. Still waiting for the raft floating from Italy with my B&P order Confused

Talked to Kaltron-Pettibone today and the slow barge from Italy has arrived with my case of F2 Classic 1 and 1/16 5s (and they claim they are true American 5s)

, my 16g. Sterly is now at the gunsmith for a 67 yr tune-up, adding a Brownells London Guns Red Rubber pad, and coverting the ugly pistol grip to a Prince of Wales grip. So, pattern testing will have to wait but I have high hopes for this load for pheasants if I can handle the recoil (they are 1280 fps). If I can't Confused

they'll be another door prize out in Montezuma.

Reverand you may be in for another near death experience with this load. Recoil is calculated at 23.6 pounds and with your worked over Sterlingworth it will give you a pretty good jolt. I wouldn't make this my ammunition of choce if I were going to shoot a hundred clay targets if I were you. On the bright side you will have time to uncross your eyes on the way back to Arizona.

I hope that the B&Ps can be my KS/S. Dakota big, wild and tough pheasant load but I'm more concerned about glossolalia than esotropia (folks at church might get alittle nervous Rolling Eyes

BTW: was distressed to find that an Italian case consists of EIGHT BOXES Confused

Doc: For preserve chukar, I shoot Gamebore 16ga 2 1/2" 7's.The recoil on these is so light that you can put the buttplate up against your nads and pull the trigger without any discomfort;just kidding,always trying to fool you Sterly guys. Twisted Evil

Thought I'd give the 'rest of the story':
Y'all know about my now long gone heartbreaker custom Princess of Whales Sterly and it's replacement, OOE 1911 Hunter Arms LC Smith which I really like BUT I'm not confident enough in the 95 year old wood to risk cracking around the side plates. After the season, I plan to take it to Dan Lammers here in Phoenix to glass bed the head and around the side plates, and possibly bend the stock because of the 3" drop.
Anyway-I want to keep the pressures with the LC below 8000 or so AND I've got my 12g Sterly for late season hvy load pheasants. SO my options are the Federal and Winchester Game Load 1 oz at 1165 6s or the Gamebore 1 oz 2 1/2" English 6s (pressure 8200) The Federal 1 oz 6s are doing great on preserve chukar but I don't have confidence in them for KS/S. Dakota pheasant and would really like to use 5s.
SO-The Bismuth UGL 1 oz load of 4s at 1200 fps (pressure also 8200 psi) actually has 156 pellets spliting the difference between lead 4s (135) and lead 5s (170 pellets) The Glendale Cabela's had them $2 off the regular $15 for 10 shells Shocked

but I'd sure like to use the LC 16 so will give them a try. Full report to follow after returning from Montezuma Very Happy
