found 9 boxes Remington game loads #8 shot in a local 1 room gun shop in Brownfield Texas.
Bought all 9 boxes.
4.99 a box, a little high, but then it's a local independant dealer, not a chain
he also had a half dozen or so boxes of older Federals, # 6 shot, but stickers on them were from a chain that went out of business 20 or 30 years ago, so i passed on them..
buy 'em when and where you find 'em....

Amen.....I bought 2 boxes of the Winchester game loads in #8 at a Meijer store in Mishawaka, IN. for $4.49 Friday, and thought that was high enough....then went to a Wal-Mart in Valparaiso today and saw the same ammo for $5.14/box.....this 16 ga. ammo is getting scarce and expensive. I did find the Remington black hull game loads last week at a Rural King Farm supply store while traveling through Niles, Michigan for $3.79/box and bought several of those. Too bad that store is 35 miles from me..... |

Wish I could find #8's in the Rem game load around here. All I can ever find is 6's and 7.5's. The 7.5's work ok for clays etc, but I would really like to get 4 or 5 flats of 8's.
Oh well, take what we can get I guess. |

Hoa: I can't figure the "local" Rural King out...they have Estate and Rem Game and Win AA Target loads, and most of this stuff is reasonably priced, for example the aforementioned 16 ga. Game Loads at $3.79 and Estate 12 and 20 ga. Target loads at $3.29/box. But their Hevi-shot and hunting loads are comparatively high priced....they do have a better selection though than the local Dick's Sporting Goods... |
