while looking for hulls on ebay, I found the following auctions.
In the first you could buy a case of shells for $80 and sell the
hulls for $50 that makes the cost per box of new shells $3.00 ea.
in the second two cases new for $160 - $130 = $2.00 ea.

Pretty hard to beat that.

I know 28 ga ,yuck, and doesnt apply to 12 ga looks like.
not enough 16 ga to see a trend.

by the way, brand new 28 ga hulls at BP sell for $12.99/100.

Hulls on ebay usually bring WAY more than they are worth. You have to give them a percentage and then ship/insure them-buyers cost-The few times I have had extra 16's I sell them to The 16 Ga Society members for a very reasonable cost.To answer your question-yes you can make some bucks selling them on ebay--be sure to post a reserve price so ya don't give 'em away Wink

After trying for several weeks to buy 16 Ga. hulls on Ebay I finally came to the same conclusion as you, Prarie Pat, and just went out and bought a couple of cases of Remingtons. A while back I saw where someone bought 500 Federal hulls for $81 including shipping. That's more than four bucks a box!

It makes me wonder just how many shills and stooges are involved with the process. Its to easy to thimble rig an auction on Ebay. all it takes are friends with false registrations. I see the same thing on the gun auctions. If its too expensive, don't bid on it. Thee are other options.

I find reloading to be relaxing and fun whether I would save money or not. I like trying different loads and realizing that I have scored well at skeet or taken a game bird with one of my own loads.
It is similar to the feling I get when I catch a fish on a fly I have tied myself.
