Started a thread on this one over on gunshop, where there are a fair number of guys that seem to know something about Stevens beyond the 311's. This one had Krupp barrels, some engraving on the receiver, a pierced rib extension (like an LC), and a very odd extractor mechanism. Will be interesting to hear some opinions over there. The gun is solid and tight, both wood and metal, although the bores have some pitting--but plenty of barrel wall for honing. Might be an interesting "project gun". |

Nope, pretty sure it's all factory. Check out the thread over on gunshop. Guy posted a photo of a high grade Stevens that looks like a cross between a Parker and an LC Smith. |

There was one over on savageshooters.com a while back too; really cool old Stevens with engraving, etc.; I'd certainly never seen one like it. Don't remember much about the mechanism but it's over there in the Stevens, Savage and Fox shotgun thread if you want to have a look; lots of pix, but that guy didn't know anything about it and was looking for info too. Had a broken stock, unfortunately.
