Just won a set of these on ebay. Box says for DL-150. I've read that these will also fit other Pacific and Bair reloaders. If so what other ones can use these if any?. I have a 12 gauge Bair panda bear now that I bought new around 1970 of which i've loaded a lot of shells with out any problems. I like the old Pacific and Bair loaders. They're built like a tank and should last forever. So I'm in the market for one to use these dies with.
Thanks Lon |

That is how my 12 gauge Bair is built with the hinge out front. Gotta love these old reloaders and these old guns.

Lon,
I'm not familiar with the other Pacific models, but attached are photos of my D-105 & hopefully you'll be able to see if they are similar.

Yep. Its on my watch list. There also is a DL266 available. Does anyone know if the 150 dies are the same as the 266. Thats one hunk of iron.

I have a old Pacific 155 set up for just full length resizing 12 gauge hulls for my auto guns. The 155 die set is different from my 105 model. I suspect that some of the 150 die set will fit the 266 as I found out with the 16 gauge 155 die set I used to convert over an old 12 gauge 366. Not all of the parts were interchangeable over to the 366, however. Pacific was great for utilizing existing machining processes to switch their die sets over to the next generation. JF |

I have a DL 150 with both 12 ga. & 16 ga. dies that I would consider parting with if anyone is interested. It was my father's and is in good shape. I have loaded many shells with it when I was younger. I have MEC reloaders and really do not have any use for this other than looking at it and remembering my father and my younger years. |

the dies for the most part interchange but to use 150 or 155 dies on a 250 260 or 266 you will need to find the 2nd shell holder and good luck on that.
You can probably make it work if the press has a 12 gauge shell holder in that spot but it wont be perfect.
I have a 260 with 12 16 & 20 gauge dies, great press |

One small suggestion here. I own and load with two Pacific 366 DL progressive presses, a 28 ga and a .410. The OEM plastic crimp forming die heads leave a lot to be desired IMO. They just don't find and properly restart the existing crimp folds very well. The end result is a fair percentage of poorly folded finished crimps (and ruined hulls).
I solved the problem by drilling and tapping the Pacific crimp start adjustment bolts to accept the smaller 1/4-20 thread sized 2nd generation MEC crimp start adjustment bolts (w/ the snap on ball on the end). The MEC plastic snap on crimp starting heads function much better. I now get nearly 0% poorly formed finished crimps and ruined hulls. Considering what reloadable 28 ga and .410 hulls cost, it's been well worth the effort IMO. Considering that none of the existing 16 ga hulls are cheap and easy to find, I strongly suggest that anyone who intends to reload w/ a Pacific unit also considers my tip. Hope it helps. Good luck. |
