From what I understand, there are some pretty decent gun shops in Traverse City, MI. Unfortunately, I don't know the names of them. Any help? I'm mostly interested in seeing Winchesters and American SxS.
Thanks!

There used to be a pretty good one right downtown by the name of Hampel's...I remember buying a case of 28 ga. shells there back in the late 80's (when a "case" meant 20 boxes) for a good price....hope they are still in business... |

Never been there, but there is Fieldsport. Here's their link:
http://www.fieldsportltd.com/
They may be a bit on the, how shall we say -- fancy? -- side. But, heck, I'd stop in just to take a look at some of the pretty guns.
I've been thrown out of better places ... and worse. |

Fieldsports generally want top dollar for there guns. You'll be lucky to find a deal. |

Hampels is still there -- and the burger at Sleder's Tavern across the street is pretty decent fare. Fieldsport on S. Airport has already been covered. Try Cliff's Rifle Shop on S. Airport. Cliff has been around a long time, and his prices are fair. |

Hamels (first generation german desent) and Sleder's (family) Tavern. Brings back memories.
Hate to admit it but I took Grampa's model 92 32-20 in there in the mid-'50s to have a side mount scope installed, evisioned it as a good late spring-early summer crow killer (nesting/fledglings), they didn't try to talk me out of the modification. Shoulda had my butt kicked. Youngest down in San Antonio now has it, bet the 'cowboy shooters' would like to have it. |
