I would like to have any thoughts and ideas about a Walther SxS 16 ga. I gather it was brought back after WW 11. I have no pictures of the gun but will try to describe. The gun is engraved with a horn trigger guard and buttplate. The gun is in very good condition. The gun was supposedly made in 1936. The numbers match. Any information regarding history or value would be most appreciated.

Only SxS listed in the Blue Book is a WSF with a WSFD variant having a cheek piece on the stock.
Introduced in 1932.
Is it marked with either of those model numbers anywhere? It would appear that in the 80-90% you are looking at approx $400-500. In real like I suppose they could bring more. |

I have a Walther 16 with a cheekpiece and what looks like a faux horn trigger guard. It has been given an aftermarket butt pad. I like the way the gun handles but it's seen a lot of use and is a bit loose. I put tape on the hinge pin to tighten it up!
I paid $300 for it a few (five?) years ago. It had a cracked/repaired forend and cracks, now repaired, in the head of the stock. I still like the old Krupp barreled warrior. It's mainly my prairie chicken gun but grassed a flushed turkey last fall with a #6 TM load. |
