B&T - checked out the website, very nice looking indeed. Interested to hear what owners will have to say about them.

B&T,
Look around for other new 16 Rizzini's. W. Larkin Moore's are way over- priced , as are Griffin and Howe's . I just purchased one (Aurum Classic ) for $ 2200.00 New in box .

I'm in the market for a deal like that. Care to share where?
Also, G&H list weight of Aurum classic as 6lbs 15 oz. WLMoore lists it at 6lbs 5 ozs. How much does yours weigh? |

onefunzr2 ,
JTH Agency on GunsAmerica .
Mine weighs 6lbs. 11oz. with 29" barrels and a POW grip, weight varies depending on wood density. The 16's that most recently arrived, seem to be a little lighter in weight.

You could go to Rizzini USA website(http://www.rizziniusa.com/) to find a dealer in your area or call them to see if they know who has a certain model gun on hand.
I have an Aurum Light 16 ga. which weighs 6lbs. 5oz. It has a 12 ga. aluminum alloy receiver. It appears Rizzini has decided to make the 16's on a 16 ga. frame.
Good luck on your search onefunzr2. |

Thank you both for the quick replies. I'm off to hunt those websites.
I'm looking for the 16 on a 16 frame size at about 6 lbs+ as it will be used for upland game not any kind of clays games. So it will be carried much but generally little fired.
It will replace the Ithaca 37 I used on pheasants since my youth that some thief needed more than me. I decided on a O/U since I rarely used the third shot anyway. |

Hey ONEFUNZER2 ,
Don't forget you can get the Omniun Light , or the Aurum Light in 16 gauge . ( Alloy Action )
They will weigh in at about 6lbs. 1 oz. to about 6lbs. 5 oz. .
Check the www.jthagency.com website and click on Rizzini in the left column of the opening page for his Rizzini info.
Check with Rizzini USA for more complete information if needed / 610-433-7730

Thanks Long_Range.
I visited the NJ Firearms Guild today. No luck finding what I'm looking for but got some useful info. Like this is the wrong time of year to go looking for a hard to find field gun. Supposedly the new manufacture will be arriving end of August or September. I couldn't buy one even if I wanted to cause I'm from PA. Same goes for state of NY. Must be shipped to FFL dealer in my home state. Anyway, NJFG packed up lots of merch for this weekends gun show at Valley Forge Expo Center.
I also went looking at Allems in Zionsville, PA. Almost the same thing. They had everything packed in a trailer for the PA state trap championships in Eyliesberg (sp?) going on all this week.
I might try Griffen & Howe tomorrow. Couldn't hurt? |

Had those B.Rizzini 16s been out when I began my quest for an 0/U 16, there probably would be one in my safe now. Can't wait to hear from someone who actually gets his mitts on one and puts some shells through her.
Also looking forward to the day, should it come, that Caesar Guerini puts out a 16. Those boys are building some beautiful guns at an attractive price. And, God help me, I want a Merkel 2016 O/U game gun!
On the other hand, I cannot complain about my F.A.I.R. 900's fit or performance so far. Never had a gun fit me so well straight out of the box. However, I may be becoming a recoil wuss, because now that I'm comfy with it, I'm limiting my skeet to three rounds per trip to the club with that little gun. It does have some bite to it, and I began to notice it around the third box of shells.
Don't know that it's a pheasant-killing laser beam just yet, but the signs look good for November, and I do truly enjoy handling and shooting the 16.
Curse all you chuckleheads for helping send a poor, smalltown lad down yet another path filled with fine-gun lust, persistent thoughts of finding flats of good shells on sale and and dreams of a life of nothing but upland gunning and a bit of fishing. |

It's a terrible malady and there does not appear to be any cure. Once infected it appears it may follow you to the grave.

My understanding was that only the newest guns were on scaled 16 ga frames. Prior to that the 16s were on 12 ga frames. Which of coure doesn't make them bad guns. Be sure you're getting what you think you're getting. |

Ain't that the truth! From all the help on this thread and a Rizzini catalog from Griffen & Howe I have decided on an Aurum light EL with English buttstock. The only problem is 'Bud' at RizziniUSA sent a 16ga Aurum Classic with prince of wales buttstock instead. And of course the quoted price was too low also, but I'm hoping to get the correct one sometime real soon.
They had two in stock. One with a solid rib and the other is vented. I chose the latter. Did I make the right choice?
I'll post a pic if the wood is as good looking as 'Bud' says it is. |

It was like pulling teeth, but I finally took possession of the Aurum Light.
It weighs 6 pounds even and balances right under the hinge. The receiver
is engraved with a pheasant on the left, quail on the bottom and woodcock
on the right. Not bad for a field grade gun.
The English style buttstock has a measurerable amount of cast-off and
mounts very smooth. It's been raining for days now, but I'll get to pattern
it when it stops. All I can do for now is fondle it. I can't wait for crow
season to open up next week. Not exactly a glamour bird, but it will have
to do until dove season begins in September. |
