I know U-D-F and quite a few of you other guys get some really neat dog pics . I just hate carrying x-tra weight and the one Pic I didn't get was yr before last at Moo . Nick's dog Peach went lock up on a Rooster and it woulda been the ultimate cool dog pic . She was locked up and the bird a couple feet away . She was looking back over her shoulder , head cocked back , red eyes looking thru the top of her head - NOT MOVING . Even if I'da had the camera , Nick probably would have stroked out taking a pic and not READY ! I can't offer the pic , but hopefully you'all have some to post . |

Here are a couple from memorable hunts.
My BIL's setter Jake locked onto a Bobwhite on a sloppy fall day
My GSP Bode nose to beak with a tight holding Bobwhite on an early fall hunt

DH, as good as pointers are at finding birds and as dramatic as the points can be, the real reason I run pointers is that I just flat love to watch 'em run...

My Pudelpointer Gunner during a training session several years ago.
My friend Bill Schultz's GSP Bella pins a bird during a training session.
Both dogs are now NAVHDA UT Prize 1 dogs. |

gsilber - now if you can imagine that GSP with it's head cocked back on a 45 degree angle , looking thru the top of it's head at the bird , that's Peach ... Steve - after I whiffed on that rooster , Peach took it out on Joel - ran his butt in a 300 yd circle at gallop . Me and Nick laughed our butts off as Joel was trying his darndest to keep up . They put up a couple roosters and some stray grouse that we missed - you could tell she was letting off some disgust ! ( i wasn't gonna mention that whiff again , but what the hey !) |
