Quite a few years ago I purchased a Cabela's Rapidloader™ Upland Vest.

You will note that it has six shell dispensers in total. As expected it's fabricate for 12ga. and also comes w/ 20ga. bushings to reduce the size of the plastic tubes that hold the shells in place until you pull them out..

Duct tape to the rescue... It appears that by squeezing the orifice and securing with duct tape it will work for our beloved 16ga.

The picture above gives you an idea of what the original and the modified plastic component both look like.

Initial field trial results will be reported some time after sundown Saturday....

Flying A-4's in Viet Nam we called it "thousand miles an hour tape". If the North had figured a way to melt that and Scotch Weld, we'd have been in real trouble. Long live duct tape.

I am trying to think of what I have not fixed, at one time or another, with duct tape.

Still trying.

Nothing is really broken, it just lacks duct tape! Wink RB

Initial field trial was postponed until 16 Feb.... glad they extended Rabbit season through the end of February. (Used to be end of January in VA).

Dittos on the duct tape comments. Grew up on a dairy farm.
It's falls within the same level of necessity as:
-bailer twine
-vice grips
-ball been hammer
just to name a few.... Very Happy

On the topic of useful materials -- my vote goes for strips of inner tube. I lived in South America for a couple years in my youth and learned the merits of keeping old inner tube and using it to hold ANYTHING together, and hold tight. Latin Americans call it "Goma" which is basically the word rubber.

Rescued a friend's decoy cart with a strip of "goma" on the last hunt of duck season. Never go into the field, stream, or woods without it.

Two "square" bands of bicycle inner tube, a broom handle and a skinned hickory sapling made a dashing pair of shooting sticks. Doubling up on the bands gives a more satisfactory level of resistance, hence stability, when the sticks are splayed for shooting purpose. Also holds them closely together as they are used as walking sticks.

You just can't beat Kentucky Chrome for emergency repairs.

If it moves but doesn't it needs WD40.
If it moves but shouldn't it needs duct tape!
