I was in a pawn shop last Friday and was looking at a Sweet Sixteen with a front trigger guard safety. Serial. No # X36..... . What year would this be ? Very nice shotgun with very nice wood. Choke was ** - I believe improved cylinder, Asking price...$ 1700.00 . Ouch ! |

I believe it may be a 1950. Only Browning knows for sure and in many cases they don't know either.

At 1700.00 it would need to be an X series, in near new condition with a box/papers, Sweet Sixteen, and factory Three Shot model. I know of one that sold for $2,000.00.
X Series 16ga.
If it is a shooter grade standard weight 16ga. $300 - 600 depending on condition. If it is a shooter grade unmarked Sweet Sixteen, $500-1000 depending on condition.
If it is a standard weight 3 Shot $600 - 1000 depending on condition.
