| When I have had problems with my A5s cycling I have had to pull the stock off and clean them with spray cleaner. Always work great after the cleaning. I tried everything prior to pulling the stock off nothing worked until pulled stock off. Make sure you have the right screwdriver bits so you don't bugger the screws up. |

| Yeah, this gun is new to me and I hadn't done that yet. I wanted to shoot it before pulling it apart. It's now cleaned of 66 years of crud, recoil and action springs replaced, and re-plated trigger and safety installed. But I'm not optimistic. These shells didn't work in my other Sweet, and it'd already been through all of that. Both guns eat everything else I put in them. My 20 gauge doesn't like Herters either. Maybe Cabellas had that ammo on sale for $50 a case for a reason... |

| I believe that the Herters shells are made by or made using Cheddite hulls. |

| Old thread, but I used the Herters in my Sweet 16 last week and they functioned perfectly. It was about 40 degrees warmer, so chances are that was the problem. |

Reloading powders are often - usually - dyed grey-black to meet customer expectations that powder is grey-black in color. The "natural" color of powder can be something different and the grey-black dye is not added to the bulk powders sold to commercial loading outfits. |

| UDF - I'd take my Davis even if it's being a P-I-A with no fire issues , excpet ... when roosters are going up all over the place or grouse , or heaven forbid Huns , I'll take the Pink Panther with 5 in her . That drop down feature on doubles is really great except for when in the heat of battle and birds are launching everywhere ! |
