Our WalMart generally has a few boxes of Estate or Federal 16 ga. I don't pay attention to their prices as I seldom buy. I'd guess in the $8/box range. |

Two search engines I've used of late... I've preset them to 16 gauge:
GunBot:
http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/shotgun/16ga/
Ammo Seek:
http://ammoseek.com/ammo/16-gauge
Hope it's of some help to you... Although it looks like skeettx found the deal fo the day.

I just ordered a flat of Nobel sport 3 1/4 dram loads from gamaliel shooter supply for $95 with free shipping. Bass Pro also has RGL for $89 and also has free shipping right now. This is usually where I go. I want to buy a couple of boxes of the Cabelas as it is a good price but I have seen some postings about cycle issues with autos so I want to try before committing to a flat or two. |

Brownells has the best price on RGLs. I bought 2 cases at $79/ea. There was a delay in shipping, so they shipped FREE. |

Do you have a Dicks Sporting nearby? I think their regular price is 7.95 for the Rem RGL's. I have had good luck going in there when they have them on sale in 12 & 20 ga and asking nice to have the 16's included and usually they will. Usually get them for $59.95 per flat |

No kidding. Even though there's a Cabela's "in town," I calculated how far it was round trip, and it costs me about $12 in gas to drive three and back. I get $5 shipping on every order with my Cabela's Club VISA card, so unless I"m just in the mood to wander around the store and shop, I always just have it shipped these days. |

We just got a Dick's last fall. Their price has been 7.95 per box.
A local farm store "Orschelns" carries the same shell at about same price.
The Herters work fine through an 1100. Plus the hull looks as good as any now produced. |

If there is a Cabelas nearby, you can order their in-house brand, Herters, for $69.99/case and have it delivered to the store for free. It's available in #6 or #8 shot, 1 ounce loads at 1165 fps - matches the Federal game load. It's made in Italy, I think by B&P. It shoots really well and the hulls reload ok. |

Alternatively, if you have them ship it to your local Cabela's store for you to pick up there, there is no shipping charge. I guess it would come down to how much does it cost you to drive there vs. shipping costs
Everyone beat me to that point.
The hulls for the Herters' shells that are now Cabelas' house brand are Cheddites. Looking at the date-loaded stamp inside the box lid shows these are new - straight from factory to store. |
