Picked these up at a gun show over the weekend. The picture of "Sears" headstamp isn't very clear. These will go nicely with my other vintage 16ga shells.

As a certified Old Box Interpreter, I can tell you it's 1-1/4 oz at roughly 1300 fps velocity. Put the rings on your Sweet Sixteen in the "Heavy" configuration for these.

My dad used to buy sears shotshells. All the 12ga I saw then in the 60's were WW Polyformed or paper. But I have never seen a Fed 16 that old so perhaps they were Feds
Here's the novel part to this story. Dad shot these loads at ducks. They were 1.5oz Mags. out of a Rem 1900. Then he was pissed that the stock broke at the wrist. The irony of it is that he was a physicist and should have seen that comming. |

Not sure who manufactured them. I also have a box of paper JC Higgins in 12 ga. and a box of plastic 12 ga Ted Williams.
I've tried to focus more on vintage 16 gauge shells recently, although I can't resist a good Peters Cincinnati or Kings Mills box regardless of gauge, having grown up in southern Ohio. |
