Dan Tercho of Nice Shot posted on the SGW forum that 5lb bottles of #4 shot would be ready soon . The bottles will supposedly screw straight on to a MEC loader. |

Thanks for the info. Hope 5 shot becomes available as that would be my preference. |

What is the availability of smaller shot such as 6 and 7.5? I ask because I have shot for waterfowl but some of the areas in WA are designated No-Tox where I'd be hunting Chukars, Grouse and Quail. |

At this time I believe it is just the 4/5 he has available. Go to SGW and there is a link to Nice Shot. |

American Meet- Precision loading is showing on their website that they still have 7.5 shot. Its the only size N S that they still have. |

"Dan said the #4 would be close in size to a #5 . I hope so , #5 is my preferred size , too"
My comment was that if I polished the belt off the shot, it would make a #4 the size of a #5 and add to the cost. That is why I posted the picture so everyone can see what is being made. And the part number NIC#4-5 means, Nice Shot #4 in a 5 pound bottle.
Dies for #5 and #7-1/2 are being manufactured and I'll post when that shot size becomes available. For you goose hunters, #2 will be out in a couple of weeks.
I do plan on having loaded ammo for sale also as soon as I get caught up with the shot manufacturing.
For the 16ga., what would everyone prefer, 1oz or 1-1/8oz loads?
Thanks!
Dan |

1 oz. loads would be great.
Even better would be 7/8 oz. loads in the smaller shot sizes, but understand costs related. |

I'm just curious why no #6 size shot? 7.5's are a bit too small for larger birds, and 5's too big and the patterns a bit sparse at longer ranges. #6 nice shot would work for just about everything in 1oz loads from quail to ducks, and it would simplify things and reduce your costs also. |

I use 6s for small ducks and early season hunting, but prefer 5s for big ducks and later when the feathers are thicker.
I use 1 1/8oz as it has given great patterns but will likely go to an oz for 16ga. I still have 6 pounds of 6s. I made some 1 1/8oz 12 ga loads and need to see how they pattern. |

Sorry , I misunderstood . My preference would be 1oz if purchasing loaded ammunition , Gotta sweet talk the Mrs into getting me a bunch of #5 when it comes available |
