Fix'en to start her on birds. Still work'en on "hup" and "come". Yes, I know she's not a pointer, but she doesn't make my nose run and my eyes water. |

They go from cute to adorable and for me inseparable. A personal relationship with a dog is one of life’s best experiences.

Lloyd3, many years ago and as a lark my hunting buddy borrowed his Aunt's Cadillac and full size Poodle. Unbeknownst to Aunty, we took him and the Caddy to Wister in CA. Wister is an excellent duck and goose hunting public area. At home, the dog did a lot of play fetch and as it turned out he was an acceptable retriever. We hunted Wister for two days and by the end of the day he had it wired. We paraded the Poodle around with our limits of ducks and received a lot of looks and comments. |

Good story! If things allign properly, I'm supposed to take her back to Wisconsin this September to have her breeder teach her to swim and retrieve. I don't get many chances to duck hunt out here, but it would be useful for her to know those things. |

Ted and JSchultz, those are two great-looking, confident-looking pups. You have the greatest project of them all - working with puppies. Enjoy it!
I've been working insane hours the last month and kenneled my setter. I get about an hour a week with her when I go up to deliver another week's worth of rations for her. She's been on boiled chicken and rice since spring after a bout of pancreatitis. It's harder than hard watching her get older. The only thing worse is when I put her back in her room at the kennel and go back to the car. Sun shines = time to make hay, but that doesn't make it any easier. |
