I am checking for interest in a 16 Gauge Festival this November in Central Florida.
How about you? Would you participate?
Plans would include Skeet, Trap, 5 Stand for any type 16 gauge shotgun.
Or should we consider Sporting Clays only?
Kindly let me have your thoughts- |

Hal I really enjoyed the 16ga Day at Gainesville in February and certainly would be interested in attending in November . But I am going be in Illinois hunting the first 2 weeks of November , depending on the dates of the shoot I might be able to make it.

Hal, Good Lord willing, I would certainly participate. As a suggestion I think the game gun category should be retained. It adds to the fun and means more than if some specialized target like guns (yes they do exist in 16 gauge) are used. Also, in that way, anyone shooting a blue colored, synthetic stocked, Remington 870 would be penalized for style points if nothing else!
Also, I like the idea of skeet, trap, 5 stand and Sporting Clays being available or any combination of those games.
BTW, what happened to the Ithaca 16 gauge that was supposed to be raffled off after the shoot in Gainesville. Thanks for the organization efforts.

The Ithaca promotion fell apart at the last moment. It appears that the
rep I was working with exceeded his authority. Rather than make a big deal about it-I thought it best to let the matter rest. After all, Ithaca had donated two guns in the past two years.
I am awaiting word from Gator Skeete & Trap about a partnership and date for the event. This would be a 1 day shoot. |

We had 20 shooters for the 16 gauge event this past Spring. This was
a Thursday event in March. Perhaps this limited participation.
The Fall shoot would be in October/November [date to be established] and would be held on a Saturday/Sunday. Shooting events would include Trap/Skeet/5 Stand. Venue would be Central Florida. |

Looking forward to the shoot, Hal. Thanks for all your work to make these events happen. I think the participation was a little thin due to weather with all the rain before and during the shoot. I am sure it will be better attended in the Fall.

I would love to attend if possible. Really hated missing last year but health matters intervened. All good now so I'll take a couple 16's when I head down. |

October would be nice , Probably wouldn't be able to make November . Should be a little cooler by Oct. Being on the weekend should make for better attendance also. |

October is still grouse season in Michigan. I never consider heading south until deer season opens and the true looneys take over the woods. |
