I was just cruising the Cabela's gun library and noticed this gun. 16 ga Dickinson, 28" barrels, double trigger, straight grip. $1019.99. It is a slightly used demo gun from the shot show that they say shows virtually no wear. Very good price in a sought after configuration. Its at the Glendale AZ store. FWIW. |

That's a steal for someone looking for their first "nice" double. I paid pretty much full retail and I'm tickled with my Dickinson. |

Hi all, that is a good deal. If someone wanted a good price on a Dickinson, this is it. I really like mine, been a wonderful performer and IMO a quality gun for the money (even at full price). The weight on this one (6-9) is a good one. Most are on the upper end of the 6lb range. But, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a bit heavier. Mine was supposed to weigh 6-8 and it weighed 6-10, did get the weight down to 6-8 (cut the stock as the LOP was too long for me). It seems a lot of dealer's don't have reliable cales!
These guns are very popular right now, you rarely see them on the used market and with Cabela's who knows how long they will be imported.
Someone better snap this one up!
Best!

i suppose it's in the trash. I didn't request to get it back, and to be honest the checkered butt was not all that great. The diamonds on mine were quite flat and really didn't serve any use but cosmetics. The butt is hollow as this gun has a through bolt design, did lose some weight overall n the gun however.
Best!

Mine has the screw-in chokes, but I think the earliest version may have had fixed chokes. |

Some have fixed chokes and are somewhat cheaper. Cabela's has sold both versions... |

Wonder if the fixed choke guns might be lighter on average, maybe barrels on the choke tubed guns are a little heavier? |

I've been patterning mine a lot lately and it throws beautiful patterns. The barrels seem to be well regulated because the patterns are all so well centered at all ranges. Mine likes the B&P 6's and 7's and I'm looking forward to swinging it on some pheasants come October. |

I just looked at the description of the gun in question. Cabela's says it has screw in chokes. |

If that is the case, that is a $500 savings and a great buy... |

It took me two weeks to decide on a 20 or 16. I never had a sxs in 20 so I got it. I have a lot of 16s. Shot alot of 3/4 oz though it the last two weeks and love it. I ordered a 16 out of Skeettx great state and waiting for it to be shipped to Indiana now. I'm taking it to Michigan grouse hunting in two weeks and South Dakota Pheasant hunting in November.
Very impressed with the gun for the money. There all on sale now for a close out I think. There is now a few 410 and 28s around at full price, |

Have you actually seen the 28 and 410? They are just myths as far as I know...
Glad you like your 20. Great buy for the money. |
